Apu

Viana asks the Apu (village head) about his community’s problems and was told that their No. 1 problem was having sufficient cash to buy school supplies for their numerous children. The communities who turn out to pick the wild Camu-Camu fruit to sell have few sources of cash income. In 2007, WWB gave two school notebooks to the approximately 1000 children living in 10 riverine villages in the region of Loreto, Peru which collect Camu-Camu fruit each year.
