An article entitled “The Danger of Daily Aspirin” (Feb. 24, 2010) in Yahoo News, publicizes the new recommendation from public health officials that many middle-aged people taking a daily baby aspirin to prevent heart attacks and strokes stop this practice. Last year more than 44 million packages of low-dose aspirin marketed for heart protection were sold—a 12% increase in usage over 2005. But the risks from the side effects of aspirin outweigh any potential benefits for people who have never had a heart attack or an ischemic stroke, according to public health officials. The risks include: stomach ulcers, bleeding to death from stomach ulcers, bleeding in the brain – and death resulting from this bleeding
Most people are not aware that Royal Cat’s Claw Liquid Extract, derived from the Peruvian rainforest botanical, Uncaria tomentosa, possesses the same blood thinning properties of aspirin without the potentially lethal side effects. Lack of awareness comes from the fact that Cat’s Claw is not sold as a drug and therefore no claims can be made of its preventing or treating any disease. What is legal to say is that studies show that Uncaria tomentosa (Cat’s Claw) supports heart health.
Here is a scientific study which shows that Cat’s Claw reduces blood clots.
