Is there a natural source of Vitamin C that is low in fructose?

Royal Camu Capsules

Q: I have fructose sensitivity (gives me gas, bloating). It’s not super severe but it’s annoying. Ketchup and orange juice are favorites that I have had to give up. I don’t want to cut out fruit altogether – that seems unhealthy. Are there low fructose fruits to eat?

A: Fructose intolerance is more common that most people realize. Royal Camu All Natural Vitamin C derived from Camu-Camu fruit—which has more natural Vitamin C than any other known source–and is about 50 times as powerful in its healing effects as synthetic Vitamin C.

After reviewing the nutritional literature, I realized how beneficial it is for people with fructose intolerance to take Royal Camu capsules or powder. A 350 mg. capsule of Royal Camu has about 4 mg. of fructose. A typical dose could range anywhere from 2 capsules daily (bare bones maintenance) to 20 capsules (5 caps 4 times a day—or one tsp. 4 times a day) for fighting off acute infections. Two caps daily would contain 8 mg. of fructose (this is milligrams—one thousandth of a gram – not grams!) 20 capsules a day (4 tsp. daily) would contain 160 mg. of fructose. That would be the highest amount one would probably ever take for any reason.

Let’s compare to eating oranges or strawberries – two fruits known for their high Vitamin C content. 100 grams of an orange is roughly a quarter of a pound – about a half of an orange, which is a small serving. This serving will contain about 2.4 grams of fructose – that is, 4,200 milligrams of fructose—compared to the 8 milligrams of fructose in 2 caps of Royal Camu or 160 mg. of fructose is the highest possible daily dosage.

One hundred grams of strawberries is a medium size bowl of strawberries. This is a typical serving if you have fruit for breakfast. This 100 g. contains 2.4 grams of fructose. That is equivalent to 2,400 milligrams of fructose. Again, compare that to the highest quantity of Royal Camu Powder or capsules you would ever think about taking, which gives you a range of 8 mg. (milligrams) to 160 mg.

Is it any wonder that people who are fructose intolerant are using Royal Camu fruit supplement and loving it?
