
A study published in the Plant Foods for Human Nutrition (Netherlands) in August 2007 noted the effects of Maca on blood sugar levels. According to the study, Maca significantly improved glucose tolerance and lowered levels of glucose in blood. The study was performed on rats genetically bred to have high blood sugar.
